Information - In order to provide our customers
with the best quality of service, we ask that you take a moment to review the
following guidelines. Please note that our basic rate is for normal household
waste only, equivalent to 120 gallons or less per week. (Businesses, daycares,
etc. are subject to a higher rate.)
Collection Times & Area
- Please be sure that all trash is securely tied in bags and out to be picked
up by 7:00 a.m. on your day of service (return trips are subject to an extra charge).
- Please
be sure to enclose all trash in plastic bags (13 gallon or larger, please)
or in a sealed box.
Containers
- You may put out
bags only, your own containers, or you may purchase a new 95 gallon polycart
at a cost of $85.00 (tax and delivery included). The polycart can be delivered
on the next day of pickup after payment is received.
- Any container and/or
refuse should in all cases be placed at a location readily accessible to the collector.
Please be sure there are no obstructing vehicles, lawn equipment or other items
in the path of the containers.
- Collectors will not enter a yard that contains
loose dogs, a gated area, a carport or garage.
Preparing Refuse For Collection
- Since we use good, old-fashioned manpower to collect the bags out
of your container(s), please ensure that each bagged item weighs no more than
35 lbs. To minimize the likelihood of bags tearing, please be especially mindful
of weight limits when disposing of paper, books, magazines, dirt, weeds, lawn
clippings, etc.
- Large and/or heavy items do not require enclosure and
may be placed next to your container. You must call ahead if you have any
items heavy or bulky (see weight limits above), or if you are going to have additional
items other than your regular weekly household trash or lawn trimmings. These
items are subject to an additional charge. Empty boxes must be broken down, flattened,
and bundled together or, if filled with packing material, must be sealed with
tape.
- Dead animals, whether intact or not, must be properly encased in
a non-porous bag or container, and weigh no more than 50 lbs. For sanitary reasons,
pet feces should be sealed/tied in double plastic bags.
- To prevent littering
the streets, Styrofoam packing materials (i.e., peanuts, balls, blocks, etc.)
must be enclosed in a securely tied bag or placed inside a taped up box or they
will not be picked up. You may also return these items to a local mailing -packaging
center for recycling.
Lawn Trimmings
- All lawn clippings
should be contained in either the paper "green bags" or 2 mil. plastic
bags, and weigh no more than 35 lbs. per bag. Please limit your lawn trimmings
to three (3) bags per week. Excessive grass, leaves and lawn clippings are subject
to an extra charge. Please do not allow any landscaping service to leave lawn
clippings from another address at your stop.
- Unless prior notice is
received, the quantity of limbs and/or brush picked up will be at the driver's
discretion. Limbs and brush must be bundled together. Limbs must be 48" or
less in length, in bundles no larger than 4 inches in diameter, and no heavier
than 35 lbs. per bundle. To minimize the likelihood of bags tearing, please be
especially mindful of weight limits when disposing of rocks, dirt, weed, etc.
- Barnes
WDS will removed excessive or non-bundled brush for an extra charge. Please call
to make arrangements for a representative to prepare a price quote to be based
on the amount of brush to be collected.
Bulk Items
Please note that
any and all bulk pickup services require advanced notice and must fall within
the following guidelines. - Please label any items that are not obvious
as refuse.
- Bulk items may include furniture, appliances, brush or landscaping,
multiple boxes, lawn equipment, light remodeling or carpentry debris (from projects
done by the homeowner only), limited to two (2) cubic yards per collection (approximately
the size of a sofa).
- Please note that the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency prohibits the disposal of "white goods" containing chlorofluorcarbon
refrigerants ("CFCs" - freon) such as refrigerators, freezers, and air
conditioners. These items will not be collected without a certificate of removal
of the CFCs and these will be a $35.00 charge for collection.
- For public
health and safety reasons, the following items will not be collected (including
but not limited to): hazardous waste, roofing material, construction or remodeling
debris done by a contractor, dirt, rock, steel shavings, concrete, hot ashes,
automotive parts, tires, batteries, liquid paint, motor oil, solvents, pool chemicals,
radioactive materials, pathogens, toxic waste, acidic waste, or volatile material.
In addition, any stable matter with great weight, or volume in excess of two (2)
cubic yards (approximately 6'x6'x3', or the area of a full size sofa) must be
scheduled as a "special collection."
Special Collection Arrangements
- We can arrange to pick up large quantities for our customers; however,
there will be an extra charge and the collection may need to be scheduled on a
different day from your usual weekly pick up. For a large volume pick up, you
must call Barnes WDS directly at 972-396-1139 to schedule a "special
collection". A representative will come out to your site, review your disposables,
and quote a price based on the volume and/or estimated weight.
Holiday Schedule
- Barnes
WDS observes the following holidays. If your regular day of collection falls on
OR after a weekday holiday, service will be delayed one day for that week
only. Friday routes will be collected on Saturday. Please note that we do not
skip service for any holidays other than those listed below:
New
Years Memorial Day 4th of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day Reminders
- Our basic monthly rate is for normal (up to 120 gallons) single
household waste only (businesses, day cares, school, etc. are subject to a higher
rate).
- Please do not share your collection days with friends or neighbors.
- To
avoid suspension of service, payment must reach our office by the 20th of each
month. We only require one month's payment at a time, however, we gladly accept
advance payment in any increments your choose.
- Barnes WDS route personnel
are not responsible for trash torn up by animals, and will not collect trash if
there is a menacing or threatening animal guarding your trash or in your container(s).
- Please
read any information tags left on your door, refuse container, bulky item or yard
waste that has been set out for collection. These tags communicate problems with
set out, collection, changes in service, and other important information. If you
receive a tag and need clarification of the information, please call Barnes WDS.

we have established these guidelines so that we may continue to provide you with
the best service possible. If you have any questions or concerns, as always, please
